Don is a retired Army officer and served 22 years on active duty. He served multiple tours in Vietnam. His last assignment was with Assistant Secretary of Defense Comptroller Office for Information Management. His awards and decorations include the Silver Star (1st OCL), Bronze Star for Valor and Meritorious Service (2nd OCL), Purple Heart (1st OCL), and the Legion of Merit. Don is special operations qualified. His alternate Army specialty was as an Application Software Analysis and Design officer.

Don retired after a successful second career with Electronic Data Systems (EDS). While at EDS, Don won several major programs for the company. Most notably was the Army Standard Information Management System (ASIMS), Project 80X, and the National Guard Distance Learning Network (DLN).

Don is married, wife Nancy, and has two children. He has a BS degree in Business from the University of Tampa, AA degree in Computer Science from Tampa College, and is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College.
